History

The history of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of the Tashkent Medical Academy is closely related to the transformation of the Medical Faculty of the Central Asian University into the Central Asian Medical Institute in 1931.

Although the Department of “Pedagogy and Psychology” was not functioning as a separate department in the first years, the professors of the department have been teaching students the modern problems of Russian, foreign languages, pedagogy and psychology.

In 1970, the Department of Russian Language was established at the Tashkent State Medical University. In this department, teaching medical students began teaching Russian language, speech culture, foreign languages, pedagogy and psychology.

The chair was headed by the candidate of philological sciences, associate professor MB Frankenstein in 1969-1974. During this period, the department tried to introduce a lot of novelties in the educational process for the development of students’ written and spoken Russian language.

From 1970 to 2009 the head of the department was the candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor AK Manuilina. Since that time conceptual bases of organization, planning, management and evaluation of teaching Russian language and pedagogical psychology have been developed for non-linguistic students. The following educational and methodical requirements for students based on the history of Therapy and Surgery (1978-1983) are included: “Fundamentals of the Course”, “Types of Monologic Speech, Interpretation and Reflections”, “Language Preparation in Clinical Practice,” training ”.

In 1997, the Russian language department was merged with the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology. In this regard, sample programs, tests for current, intermediate and final control, and texts of lectures in the disciplines of pedagogy and psychology were developed and published for medical higher education.

The chair was headed by the candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor NXYunusova in 2009-2012. During this period, special attention was paid to the use of modern pedagogical and information technologies in teaching English, Russian, Latin, pedagogy and psychology. Effective work has been carried out to establish educational standards in the field of vocational education.

Since September 2012 the department is headed by Doctor of Psychology, Professor BM Umarov. During this period, the department began to pay serious attention to the use of advanced pedagogical and information technologies in teaching subjects. As a result, educational and methodical complexes, single methodical systems, visual materials and electronic copies of them were developed, such as vocational pedagogy, professional psychology, educational technologies, and pedagogical skills, techniques of vocational training. commissioning has started.

There are 10 professors and teachers in the department. 1 of them are doctors of science, 2 are candidates of science, 4 are senior teachers and 3 are assistant professors.
